The competition was aimed at student and the idea was to re-imagine a book cover for one of three books. I chose Talking Turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah which was in the children’s book category.

My idea was to design a bright, explosive, colourful book cover that would excite children into wanting to read it. I was inspired by graffiti art and murals from urban areas, as the book is filled with poetry that Benjamin Zephaniah narrates like a rap song.

I did not win the competition but it was a great experience to work on a live brief and incorporate real publisher logos within my designs.
